Florida Divorce Papers Filed After OchoCinco Domestic Allegations

The National Football League's Chris Johnson -- commonly known as OchoCinco despite the legal return to his original name in 2011 -- is a very familiar name in the news. Whether it is his football achievements or his off-the-field antics, he has become one of the NFL's most well-known wide-receivers.
As controversial as he is in his professional career, his private life seems to carry a similar degree of conflict. Just over one month ago, he got married to his long-time girlfriend and fiancé on July 4, 2012. Exactly 41 days later his wife filed for divorce this week in Florida amidst infidelity accusations and a domestic incident.
The incident began on Saturday, Aug. 11 when the wife confronted the wide receiver about a receipt for a box of condoms that she had found in the man's car. According to the wife, the box of condoms was not purchased for use in the marriage. Instead, she reminded him of the allegations made by a 30-year-old woman who told media sources that she had been involved in a relationship with his during the couple's engagement. The argument escalated into allegations of domestic violence. The wife claims that he athlete head-butted her, causing physical injury.
Only a few days later, his wife filed for divorce. She released a statement affirming the domestic allegations and said that she hoped her husband could find the help that he needed. She wished him well, but said that she hoped her actions would help other women to "break their silence as well." Johnson responded with an apology and a statement professing his love for his wife and well-wishes for her future without him.
